RSS Help

Resonant Effects is proud to make our news and blogs available via RSS. An explanation of RSS and how to use it follows below.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is an easy way to gather and display information from a variety of sources, including news, updates to websites, business and stock statistics, and blog posts.

Why Would I Subscribe to RSS?

RSS feeds are a great way to save time! The news you want is automatically delivered to your computer whenever you want. In addition, RSS feeds provide a way to receive information without revealing any information about yourself. Since you are not signing up for an email newsletter, there's no possibility of receiving spam or junk email!

How Do I Get RSS?

To read RSS feeds, you need a tool called a feed reader or news aggregator. It maintains a list of the feeds you chose, checks them at regular intervals for updates, and displays their contents in a readable format. All feed readers track what you've read previously and highlight new content for easy scanning.

Many popular websites and browsers already feature built-in aggregators, including My Yahoo!, Google, iTunes, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple's Safari. If you are not familiar with these applications, you may download a free aggregator at numerous sites. Performing a search for "RSS Feed Readers" in any major search engine such as Google or Yahoo! will produce a slew of software options - many of which are free or at little cost.

After you've installed a feed aggregator, just look for the little orange "RSS" or "XML" buttons on your favorite websites. The Resonant Effects website displays RSS buttons in all of the News areas and calendars. Click an RSS button to view these directions and the link to our RSS feed. Simply copy the web address and plug it into your aggregator. The software then starts collecting the news automatically for you!
