Robert Rich Performance in Portland
Posted June 24, 2010
Robert Rich performed at the venerable Clinton Street theater in Portland. As always, Robert was gracious and generous with his fans. The light show was a cut above average, although the Planetarium show in Detroit a couple of years ago may still have been my favorite.
I had at least as much fun the day before during an in-store performance at Music Millennium, an institution among independent record stores, and a true local treasure. Robert was reluctant to accept the audience's applause for what he described as "noodling". However the fun and spontaneity of the performance made it an experience I'm glad I didn't miss. Here's a picture of Robert playing, and a closeup of a few of his custom PVC flutes.
